Always tight on the heels of SHOT Show, is the Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
While the former is designed only for the gun industry, the GAOS, as it will be called from here on out, is great for regular gun and outdoor enthusiasts who play the important role of consumer.
It provides you the opportunity to see many of the new firearms released for the year, the ability to get your hands on them, and even see some other cool things like RVs, tents, and log cabins.
Yes, there are quite literally log homes built inside one of the enormous rooms of the GAOS.
There’s also a fishing pond, and even a place for you to practice shooting a bow.
GAOS is an NRA hosted event, so there are a lot of extras involved, to include the famous wall of guns and a country concert. If you cannot make it this year, don’t worry because Down Range Daily has you covered. We will do our very best to bring you all of what you want to see.
What am I looking forward to most? One of my favorite companies of all time will be there to host the NRA sportsman’s banquet and talk about their new 2017 products at their booth.
Which company? Henry Repeating Arms, who makes some of the best rifles in the world right here in America, will be in attendance with several new 2017 products.
I plan to put my hands all over each one of them. There are a few that I’m looking forward to touching in particular:
Speaking of .410, they also released a few other shotguns for the 2017 model year, and as far as I know, this is the first time in Henry’s long history that they’ve produced any shotguns.
For a longer list of the products they’re releasing, check out this page which shows all of them. Make sure you stay tuned so you don’t miss any of the coverage at the Henry booth, or any of the others I’ll be checking in on.
It’s a good time, and if you do get out there, make sure you try one of those milkshakes in the food court area. You’ll be glad you did.
